Board President - Angela Valdivieso

Angela Valdivieso-Rangel is originally from Colombia, moving to Georgia in 2003 and to Wicks Lake in May 2015.

Angela has been serving the HOA board since 2017, taking over as the President this year. For the past three years, she has also led the Garden Club, and helped oversee clubhouse rentals and the opening of the pool during the summer months.

She also created the Meditation group that meets the last Thursday of the month at the clubhouse.

Angela enjoys traveling, cooking and gardening.

Vice President - Melissa O'Shea

Melissa and her family - husband Anthony and daughter Harriet have lived in Wicks Lake and been HOA members since fall of 2016. Melissa joined the board in 2018, taking over as Vice President in 2021. She also serves as the Social Chair, planning and organizing neighborhood events like wine mixers, kids parties, and holiday celebrations.

Melissa is originally from the Boston area and Anthony originally from County Kerry Ireland. They met while Melissa was working and living in the UK in 2001. They were married in 2002, lived in Massachusetts for a while, then moved to Georgia in 2010, about a year after Harriet was born. They enjoy not having to shovel snow here in the South, although Harriet says she wouldn't mind it.

Melissa has a background in sales, office management and event planning which makes her a good fit for her role as Social Chair. Anthony works in sales for a trade show company and is a part time rock star - lead singer and guitarist for the band The 77zeros (frequently seen at the Suburban Tap). Like Melissa, Anthony also loves hosting a good party. This and the fact that the Easter Bunny suit fits him perfectly make him number one on Melissa's list of social event volunteers.

Harriet, also a great helper, is our number two volunteer. She loves her friends here in Wicks Lake and can be seen most days running and playing with them outside, catching creatures around the lake or out kayaking, red hair flying in the breeze.

The O'Sheas live lakeside on Wicks Ridge Lane and love having friends over to sit on their dock to enjoy the lake. When they're not working or entertaining, they can be found out walking "Roguey," their beloved Welsh Terrier, or at their home away from home ("Harriet's Cottage") on the Dingle Peninsula of Ireland.

Melissa is always looking for volunteers to help execute neighborhood events so be sure to reach out to her if you enjoy party planning and would like to help out.

Board Treasurer - Mike Basak

Moved to Georgia in January 2019. Mike has been married to his wife Carrie for 17 years, and has 3 boys: Justin (15), Payton (13), and Dylan (10). Attracted to the East Cobb area because of its location and reputation for outstanding schools and community.

Mike is the Department Manager for Aftermarket Supply Chain for Mercedes-Benz USA. He has worked for Mercedes-Benz (Daimler) for over 18 years. Mike has extensive business experience in budgeting, contract negotiations, procurement, operations management, project management, and developing business strategies. Mike earned a B.S. in Finance from University of Delaware and a M.S.A in International Business Administration from Central Michigan University.

In his spare time, Mike enjoys time with his family, home improvement projects, golf, target shooting, leisure travel, and listening to music/taking in a concert.

Board Secretary - Marcy Betz

Marcy serves as the secretary on the Wicks Lake HOA Board. Marcy and Damian have lived in Wicks Lake since 2011 with their two boys, Macallan and Kyler.

Marcy grew up in SE Michigan/NW Ohio and has called Georgia home for the last 20 years. She currently works part time as an account manager for Marino Equity Partners (commercial real estate). Marcy also volunteers on the social committee for Wicks Lake and enjoys spending time and getting to know neighbors.

Member at Large - Shirley Weller

While born in Hollywood, CA, Indianapolis was my home for many years. In August of 1990, we moved to Wicks Lake and have enjoyed calling Georgia home since then. I opened the first Wild Birds Unlimited franchise in GA in 1991 selling the store in East Lake Commons to its current owners in 1997.

My professional background was retail banking retiring after 21 years of service. During that time, I served as Board President of the Julian Center, a center for women and children of domestic violence. We provided shelter, counseling, and family support services.

I have been active in volunteer board positions for more years than I wish to count. I have served the Wicks Lake HOA as President, Vice Chair, Treasurer, and now Member at Large.

Living on Wicks Lake brings nature to my back door, and I want to continue making our neighborhood an inviting and active community for all.

Member at Large/Architectural Control - Yohan Cano

The Cano’s moved to the wonderful neighborhood of Wicks Lake August 2020, Yohan joined the HOA board in December 2021.

Yohan is originally from Cuba, moved to Miami at the age of 11 on a political asylum visa. Yohan has been working for the same company for over 25 years, where he has held many positions and travel the United States; in January 2020 he became Director, Business Process Management. He has been happily married to Magvis for thirteen years and has one daughter, Gianna and the family pet Coco (whom you may have seen walking around in her yellow boots). When Yohan’s is not working, or spending time with his family; he is working on their home. Yohan for the past five years has been doing wood work, from building closets, to replacing base board, door or window trim. Yohan hobbies are road and mountain bike.

Yohan and his family enjoy living in Wicks Lake, and love spending time with neighbors that welcome them with open arms and made them feel part of the Wicks Lake family.
